PluriCardio – Technical Info

Cardiomyocytes delivered in the PluriCardio™ kit have been extensively characterized by a series of tests that confirm its quality and application as a great model of human cardiomyocytes derived from iPSCs. Read bellow some of the main characterization, quality controls, external references and protocols for these cells.

  • Purity | Out lots of cardiomyocytes show greater than 90% purity measured by troponin T (TNNT2 gene) and Troponin I (TNNI3) flow cytometry analysis.
  • Subtypes | Depending on plating protocols (2D vs 3D), the population is composed of over 95% ventricular cells (3D spheroids) or 70% ventricular, 25% atrial and 5% nodal (single cell plating). This proportion may vary overtime.
  • Electrophysiological tests | These cells respond as expected to the main pharmacological ion channel blockers using regular tools such as MEA and patch clamp.
  • Toxicity | In vitro cardiotoxicity studies are a growing field and these cells could be used to forecast such event with confidence (data related to doxorubicin).
  • Transfection | Achieve high efficiency and cell survival in transfection protocols for DNA and siRNA.
